Superman Returns.

Well I downloaded and watched Superman returns, and despite the blatantly poor quality of file, I'd say it was a very enjoyable movie. I thought the guy that played Lex Luther did an absolutely amazing job; he was easily the best part of the movie. Like with most movies, however, I pretty much predicted the majority of what entailed. I knew the kid was superman's right when he was introduced in his first scene in the office. I knew that the movie would end with Superman leaving after some generalized ambiguity.

I definitely loved the action sequences though; I am not much on action sequences these days, since I've seen it all before, and essentially, will see it over and over again--but it was fun while it happened. The guy that played superman looked the part but his acting was a bit less-than-lustrous for my liking. I thought Kal Penn's role was totally unnecessary. He totally didn't fit the one-of-the-bad-guy's-accomplices role and the fact that he was in the movie, made me want more of it than just a mono-syllabic line or two, here and there.

Overall, I give it 3/4 stars.

Since it was discussed on Andrew's blog, I will basically elaborate on the statements and share some of my own on SH (super hero) movies in general.

1. Batman Begins (by far the best out of the lot)
2. Spiderman 2 (great movie, but the fun leaks out the more you watch it)
3. Superman Returns.
4.X-men 2 (awesome movie, but a bit boring at times)
5. Spiderman 1 (good movie, but the fun really leaks out the more you watch it)

Notable mentions goes solely to Hellboy, which was actually a pretty decent movie except for the ending. Most other SH movies sucked, imo.

Comments:
Guy who played Lex Luthor = Kevin Spacey.

Now that makes sense. See, I couldn't even tell, you know, with the baldness n' all.
