10 MPH

So I've successfully evaded doing any homework and/or studying for my upcoming academic endeavours, but all is well because I said so.

I just wasted the past 6 hours or so watching movies and playing GH3. I tried to make it clear to myself that I wouldn't waste my time like this; however, things aren't always as they seem. Sometimes, they're exactly as they seem, and this time it was no different than any other time.

So I watched a comical documentary called 10 MPH. This is as independent as documentaries come and go. Here's a synopsis in a nutshell (sorta): a self-funded group of 20 somethings travel across the united states from Seattle to Boston--on a segway!

What's the point in all of this? Honestly, it's tough to describe. I began watching it all simply because I thought the idea of some 20 year olds quitting their lousy cubicle, corporate jobs due to some existential epiphany that they both shared, was intriguing to say the least. Whether they fail or succeed isn't up to us to judge them, because even if they fail, they've still succeeded. Why? Well, unlike the rest of us, they actually went out and did something worthwhile.

All commercial aspects aside, I think the movie is a hit. It doesn't specifically matter what we think they might have achieved, but simply the fact that something was done, even if it's noticeably minute to most.

Give it a shot; it's won't be a waste of time.
