Lars and the real girl

So I browsed through QSS and someone had recently uploaded Lars and the real girl. The good thing is, essentially, any movie, regardless of its theatrical release, can be uploaded at any given time; the bad news is that if you miss your chance, it can, and most likely will be taken down within 24 hours of its postage. So you either watch the movie then and there, or you download it and watch it at a later time. Anyways, time to review said movie:

Now, in principle, the movie is creepy and weird, and that's not subject to change. What is subject to change, if necessary, is the attitude the movie brings about in people. I was skeptical, even though the movie had RT's backing; however, amidst all the humour and peculiarity, I was, indeed, touched by the execution of the movie. And even though the "real girl" doesn't have a pulse, she is, indeed, real. I guess if one invests enough time and emotional input with anything, it can serve to have a much more profound existence. Sure, I couldn't help but laugh at certain scenes for presumably the wrong reasons, but that's one of the reasons for substantiating the movie's premise.

All in all, if you read this post in time, watch the movie before it gets taken down. If you have already seen the movie, good on you.

that ends this post.

Comments:
just saw Lars and the Real Girl, Gosling did a great job playing out his character's psychological transitions... it was considerate of the movie's producers to leave out the predictable small-town drama as well
