slumdog millionaire + golden globe
Well, it's official: everyone's in love with slumdog millionaire. It just somewhat bugs me that it took a clean sweep at the golden globe awards for it to get the full recognition that this brilliant flick deserves. This movie should have been receiving its high praise long before it won and only due to its recent achievements are they actually beginning to run it in Indian theatres.
One thing I will say though is that this movie has clearly exceeded even my own expectations. It's one thing to note that this movie deserved everything it has gotten thus far, but even though it deserved it, I never would have expected it.
I don't care much for the golden globe awards, though. I never did. I have always only cared about the Oscars and I am nearly positive that it will win at least 2 awards.
Btw, the soundtrack is amazing. I've long since been a fan of A.R Rahman, but this soundtrack is nothing short of his best work. If you haven't downloaded it, do so immediately.

I don't think they marketed Slumdog Millionaire very well. It's been forced to spread via word of mouth. And so far the largest announcement of its awesomeness has been the Golden Globes. So naturally, that would increase its exposure.
I haven't seen a trailer on TV at all. From 64% of flixter not wanting to see it, it's gone up 6%:

Yeah, you guys are right. In fact, that was precisely what I wanted to write when I had made the post, but for whatever reason, I had forgotten and kept feeling that my post was incomplete. They really did not market it well enough. But I suspect that they didn't realize that these many people would be interested in watching it. I think the DVD sales, whenever it does come out, will be through the roof.
