So I watched Star Trek today with a couple of friends and as expected, the movie kicked ass. One thing, however, is that I felt kinda distant when in a conversation with a couple of them (Manu and Himesh). They were talking about what kind of car to buy and since they have the monetary means to do so, I just thought about how much behind I am in my own career endeavours. Nothing resentful, but it's just kinda disappointing in a sense.

Comments:
I watched Star Trek on monday and it did, indeed, kick ass.

I feel the same way constantly - my coworker, who is 24, is already making mortgage payments on an apartment. :(

Star Trek was awesome. I agree. I saw it twice, lol.

Hey man, read what you wrote on my blog, really made me think of my priorities. To sum it up, if I plan on having kids before I'm 30, I can't afford to dick around not earning anything in the next five years, you know?

And yeah, maybe my career is going to suck (relatively speaking), but as long as I'm earning enough money to support my family, I'm sure they'll be a place that's at least tolerable. And who knows, maybe I'll actually enjoy my job, eh? I'm willing to take that risk.

[p.s., I thought I'd reply here, as your post kinda relates... so yeah, keep on trucking, don't get discouraged! If you feel like this is what you have to do to be happy in your life, then do it! Besides, delayed gratification is a sign of intelligence...]
